Dallas County reports 4 coronavirus deaths, 95 new cases; Collin County adds 2 deaths

Dallas County is well behind the president’s July 4 vaccination goal, County Judge Clay Jenkins said.

Dallas County reported four more COVID-19 deaths and 95 new coronavirus cases Tuesday.

The latest victims were two Dallas residents: a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s, a Carrollton man in his 60s and an Irving man in his 60s. All four had underlying high-risk health conditions.

County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a written statement that about 57% of Dallas County residents have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine — well short of President Joe Biden’s goal of 70% of eligible Americans by July 4.

“With the emergence of the delta variant … it is imperative that more people get vaccinated as soon as possible,” Jenkins said.
