WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Black Cat #11 by Jed MacKay, C.F. Villa, Brian Reber and Ferran Delgado, on sale now.

With 2008's Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he went on to guest-star in films that were ostensibly about characters like Spider-Man and Captain America, where he usually showed off his latest suits or other fantastic inventions. The notoriety and success of the feature films have led to an increase in Iron Man's presence in the comics, where he now finds himself in a guest-star capacity in other heroes' ongoing series. And in his latest guest-starring comic book appearance, Tony Stark did the exact same thing, and he brought one of his MCU creations along too when Felicia Hardy attempts a theft at Stark Industries in Black Cat #11.

Black Cat and her former mentor, the Black Fox, have been pulling off heists across the Marvel Universe in order to build a device called a Randall Gate that will allow them to steal all of the treasures from the Thieves Guild. The last item on their list is a dimensional resonator that will allow them to open the door to the Thieves Guild's extradimensional vault. The only person who has the tools to build something like this is Iron Man, which is why Black Cat impersonates a plucky redheaded science reporter to gain a one-on-one interview with him. As we soon find out, Tony Stark's newest invention -- and the focus of Black Cat's master plan -- is almost identical to one the deceased Iron Man left behind for Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Black Cat Iron Man Nanoforge

Black Cat is after Tony Stark's Nanoforge, which is in a heavily guarded area of Stark Industries. With the combination of a fake alias, a Baintronics mobile phone with a full intrusion suite and a diversion from an armored villain named Firepower, Black Cat is able to break into the Nanoforge holding room. The next phase of the heist involves Black Cat using her Baintronics phone to hack into Stark's hi-tech security system to fool it into believing she is Iron Man. Once she's in front of the Nanoforge, it's hers to command.

The Nanoforge can fabricate any item its user wishes, which for Black Cat means building a dimensional resonator. However, she decides to spice things up while she waits for it to complete. Black Cat tells a story about playing with paper dolls as a kid and dressing it up in different accessories she cut out. Since the Nanoforge is very similar to this process, Black Cat uses it to build herself her very own Iron Man-esque armor modeled after her superhero costume.

Spider-Man Tom Holland Stark fabricator

The amount of personalization the Nanoforge offers is a mirror image of the fabricator Spider-Man uses to craft himself a new super suit in Spider-Man: Far From Home. After getting trounced by Mysterio, Spider-Man reconvenes with Happy Hogan aboard a Stark jet to come up with a new gameplan before the film's final battle. The only problem is Peter doesn't have a superhero suit to hide his secret identity. Since this is one of Tony Stark's jets, it naturally comes equipped with a suit-fabricating device that Peter uses to hand-select the accessories for his new costume. We see multiple versions of Spider-Man's costumes from the comics. Peter even adjusts the specs on his web-shooters for good measure, and the fabricator is able to produce a Spider-Man suit in only a matter of minutes.

Now it appears this piece of MCU technology has made its way from the big screen to the comics. Unfortunately for Iron Man, it has now fallen into the hands of the elusive Black Cat, with the two set up to fight in a battle between the Invincible Iron Man and the Full Metal Black Cat.
