GRAHAM 43, VERNON 9

VERNON – Noah Jilek exploded for 193 rushing yards, sparking Graham to a 43-9 victory against District 3-4A Division II rival Vernon on Friday at Lion Stadium. The Steers (5-3, 3-0) are entrenched atop the district standings, while Vernon (1-7, 0-2) is still searching for its first 3-4A DII win.

Jilek found the end zone four times, playing the best game of his varsity career with the Steers. As a team, the Steers finished with 315 rushing yards on 44 carries. Seth Flowers added 70 yards and a TD on eight totes.

Kale Sherrill led the Lions with 96 rushing yards on seven carries, including an 80-yard TD run in the first quarter.

IOWA PARK – Ty Cunningham scored three rushing TDs, leading Iowa Park to a 35-0 victory against Bridgeport in District 3-4A Division II action Friday at Hawk Stadium. Iowa Park (4-4, 2-1) sits alone in second place in the district standings, a game back of Graham.

The Hawks stuffed Bridgeport’s offense through the game and held the Bulls (3-5, 0-2) to 58 yards and three first downs in the first half.

The Hawks led 21-0 after the first quarter, with Cunningham scoring on a 26-yard run, Jadyon Southard adding a 25-yard rushing TD and Brandon Bajo returning an interception for six.

Cunningham added a 27-yard rushing TD in the second quarter and a 21-yard run to the end zone early in the fourth.

HENRIETTA – Valley View had no answer for Baron Brown – on offense or defense – and Henrietta demolished the Eagles, 54-7, in District 6-3A Division II action Friday at Bearcat Stadium. Henrietta (7-1, 3-0) keeps pace with Holliday atop the district standings, while Valley View (0-8, 0-3) remains winless on the season.

Brown was incredible, catching eight passes for 234 yards and two TDs. He also scored a 3-yard rushing TD and returned an interception for a score. Fisher Pullen also had an interception return TD. Braden Bell completed 14 of 22 passes for 282 yards, two TDs and two interceptions.

The Eagles were held to 248 yards and turned the ball over three times.

WHITESBORO – Clay Hermes threw for five touchdowns and ran for another, and Whitesboro jumped on Bowie early en route to a 64-7 victory Friday at Jackrabbit Stadium. Whitesboro (4-4, 3-2) kept itself in the thick of the District 4-3A Division I playoff race. Bowie (2-6, 0-5) lost its sixth straight and remains winless in district.

Hermes finished 14 of 22 for 242 yards and five TDs with no interceptions. He also rushed for 49 yards on 10 carries, including a 26-yard TD for the game’s first touchdown.

Whitesboro led 28-0 after the first quarter and 48-7 at halftime.

Cutter Brow scored Bowie’s lone TD, catching a 4-yard pass from Colby Miller in the second quarter. Bowie was held to 163 total yards and turned the ball over four times.

ERA – Petrolia made quick work of Era on Friday, sitting its starters in the second half a 41-6 victory in District 7-2A Division II action at Hornet Stadium. Petrolia (8-0, 2-0) remains undefeated and prepares for state-ranked Windthorst at 7 p.m. Thursday in Petrolia.

Cooper Watson was on point behind center for the Pirates, completing 6 of 10 passes for 110 yards and three TDs. Watson also rushed for a 36-yard score. Quade West caught two touchdown passes, while Haven Atnip hauled in two receptions for 55 yards and a score.

Caleb Henderson rushed for 139 yards and two TDs on five carries.

Era managed just 103 total yards and scored its lone TD on the final play of the game.

SEYMOUR – Keegan Gilbreath produced another stellar performance Friday, leading Seymour to a 41-28 victory in District 6-2A Division I action at Fair Park Stadium. The Panthers (5-3, 3-0) keep pace with Archer City (5-2, 3-0) atop the district standings.

Gilbreath torched the Indians (1-7, 1-2) on the ground and through the air. The sophomore quarterback rushed for 154 yards and three TDs on 26 carries. He completed 29 of 37 passes for 394 yards, three TDs and one interception.

David Charo was Gilbreath’s top target, catching 11 passes for 138 yards and a score. Isaac Willden had eight receptions for 118 yards and a TD. Brayden Loyd also caught a TD pass.

OLNEY 49, ELECTRA 14

ELECTRA – Jovani Rockmore and Gatlin Guy rushed for more than 100 yards, and Olney ran away from Electra, 49-14, in District 6-2A Division II action Friday at Tiger Stadium.

Rockmore rushed for 156 yards and two TDs, while Guy had 111 yards and two scores on five carries. Guy also completed 5 of 6 passes for 107 yards and a TD. Olney (4-4, 2-1) had 494 total yards, including 387 rushing.

The Tigers (3-5, 0-3) had 216 total yards, including 128 rushing, Luke Barrera had 97 rushing on 25 carries. Bryce Cote returned a kickoff 81 yards for a kickoff late in the fourth quarter.

Callaway completed 6 of 7 passes for 101 yards and two TDs with a 41-yard rushing TD. Tristin Baxter touched the ball three times, scoring each time. He had 61 rushing yards and two TDs and 47 receiving with a score. Cameron Hernandez rushed and passed for scores.

MIDLAND – Nate Otto’s four rushing TDs weren’t enough for Wichita Christian to overcome Midland Trinity on Friday, falling 46-38 in TAPPS 1-A action at Coombes Field. WCS (4-3, 1-3) has lost three of its last four games.

The Stars trailed 34-16 at halftime but battled back to take the lead in the third quarter. Otto scored on a 1-yard run with 3:33 left in the period, giving the Stars a 38-34 advantage. It didn’t hold up.

Trinity scored with 1:10 remaining in the third, taking a 42-38 lead into the fourth. Trinity added a field goal and shut out Trinity in the fourth quarter.
