$1,200 In Baby Formula Stolen From Oswego Jewel

Police said they do not yet have a description of the suspect in the case.

OSWEGO, IL — A grocery store in Oswego had $1,200 worth of baby formula stolen from its premises, according to Oswego Police. The incident is just the latest major theft in the area.

At about 2 p.m. on Thursday, someone at the Jewel at 3795 Orchard Rd. took off with the baby formula, Oswego Police said in an incident report. The store called in the alleged crime about two hours after the theft.

Police said they do not have a description on any suspects in the case. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

There have been a number of big-time thefts in the Oswego area in recent days.

Earlier in the week, a man allegedly stole $900 worth of items from the Oswego Walmart, according to police.

Someone also recently stole $75,000 worth of jewelry from a Kohl's store in Oswego, police said at the time.

In early September, two liquor stores in Oswego were hit in consecutive days by the same thieves, who stole bottles of liquor. A man was charged in those incidents.
