Hey, new parents: Check out this free baby safety event in Boynton Beach

Learn more about keeping baby safe at Boynton Beach’s Baby Safety Expo from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the Children’s Schoolhouse Museum, 129 E. Ocean Blvd., Boynton Beach.

The city is marking National Baby Safety Month with the free, family-friendly event.

The first 100 people to visit the city’s table get a free goody bag with a buy-one-get-one-free pass to the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and a “Baby on Board” car decal. There also will be a hot-car display, where the first 50 people will receive a free teddy bear keychain.

Children will be able to take part in a meet-and-greet with firefighters and their truck, LEGO activities and chalk art.

Attendees also can enter for a chance to win a prize basket with babyproofing tools, swim lessons and a free family membership to the Children’s Schoolhouse Museum.

Vendors include Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Boynton Beach Police Department, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department, Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department, the Boynton Beach City Library, Young Dentistry and Inspire Chiropractic.

Information available includes:

– Infant sleep safety

– Prenatal health

– Basic first aid

– Hot car awareness

– Car and driving safety

– Pool and water safety

– Neighborhood safety

– Dental health and safety

– Overall wellness tips

Professionals will be on-site to review car seat installations, and parents will be able to create personalized child ID kits.
