Metro Nashville Police investigating after man killed in West Meade apartment shooting

A 20-year-old injured in a shooting at a West Meade apartment complex has died and police are searching for at least two suspects.

Officers believe the shooting was related to drug activity.

Spivey, who had $3,200 on his person, was meeting the occupants of a silver Hyundai Sonata in the parking lot of his apartment complex, according to police.

The backseat passenger got out of the Hyundai and opened fire striking Spivey several times. Men inside his apartment then ran out and returned fire upon the Hyundai as it drove away.

Investigators later found drug packaging materials and five firearms inside his apartment after the shooting.

The occupants of the vehicle are still at large, police said.
