‘Freestyle Love Supreme’ fixture Utkarsh Ambudkar cut from ‘Mulan’ remake

Utkarsh Ambudkar has some new material to rap about.

During a performance of Broadway’s “Freestyle Love Supreme” on Sunday, the 36-year-old rapper and actor revealed that his role in Disney’s forthcoming live-action remake of “Mulan” ended up on the cutting room floor.

In September, Ambudkar — who performs with the hip-hop improv group as UTK the INC — told the New York Times that he’d been cast to play Skatch, a new character who’s a “swashbuckling con man.”

“I felt fun and cartoonish and handsome and caddish and dirty,” he explained of the role.

On Sunday, Ambudkar joked that he should have had the audience sign non-disclosures before the show, as he’d just found his role had been axed.

Ambudkar recently appeared in “Brittany Runs a Marathon” and is next set to star in “Free Guy” with Ryan Reynolds.
