WOODHAVEN, QUEENS — Police have tracked down and arrested the hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in Woodhaven last month.

Woodhaven resident David Garcia is facing charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and leaving the crash scene in connection with the July 25 hit-and-run, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Investigators say the 26-year-old driver was heading south on Woodhaven Boulevard about 5 a.m. when he hit a pedestrian crossing the boulevard by 91st Avenue, then raced off.

The pedestrian, 56-year-old Woodhaven resident Sivananaintha Perumal, was pronounced dead on site.
