In Lancaster, an historic covered bridge needs to be repaired after a tractor-trailer got stuck.The truck crashed into the Mount Orne covered bridge last week. The bridge connects Lancaster with Lunenburg and Vermont.Lancaster’s town manager, Edward Samson, says the driver made a wrong turn and then got stuck in the bridge.“The community’s fine. It had no negative effect, because by the very same day, it was confirmed by the engineers, by the Department of Transportation in New Hampshire that the damage was not a risk to the collapse of the structure, that it was safe to drive through,” Samson said.The town hopes to have the bridge repaired before winter.
