Michigan Adds 1,308 Coronavirus Cases Over Last 2 Days

MICHIGAN — Michigan health officials said over 1,300 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported over the past two days.

The state said 1,308 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan since Saturday, bringing the statewide case total in Michigan to 122,735. Eight more people have died from the virus in that timeframe as well, according to the state, bringing the coronavirus death toll in Michigan to 6,731.

Michigan added over 900 new cases of the virus on Saturday. More than 95,000 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus, the state said on Saturday.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan is 17th in the U.S. in reported coronavirus cases. Michigan is ninth in the nation in coronavirus deaths.

More than 7.3 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the U.S. as of Monday morning, according to the World Health Organization. Over 209,000 people in the U.S. have died from the virus. More than 4.5 million people in the U.S. have recovered from the virus.

Over 33.4 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. That number includes more than 1 million deaths and nearly 25 million recoveries. Nearly 7.7 million coronavirus cases remain active.
