Four teens who tested positive for COVID-19 escaped Natchez Trace Youth Academy

Four teens, who law enforcement officials said tested positive for COVID-19, escaped from the Natchez Trace Youth Academy in Humphreys County this week.

According to information from the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office the teens, all 17-year-old white males, escaped sometime Monday overnight.

As of Tuesday, officials said that one teen had been located but the other three remained at large.

Deputies released descriptions of the three teens:

  • First: 5’7, 165-pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He wore a gray sweatshirt and khaki pants. He possibly has on a purple and a white t-shirt underneath the sweatshirt, and blue shorts under the khaki pants.
  • Second: 5’8, 174-pounds with sandy hair and blue eyes. He wore a gray sweatshirt and khaki pants. He may have a blue polo type shirt and a white t-shirt, and blue shorts as well. He has a large tattoo of a skull with a marijuana leaf on his right arm.
  • Third: 5’8”, 165-pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a gray sweatshirt with khaki pants.

The sheriff's office did not say how the teen's managed to escape or why they were at the academy.

According to the sheriff's office, authorities do not know the direction the teens traveled in.

One of the teens is from Carroll County and the other two are from upper East Tennessee.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to dial 911.
