Admission to the Art Museum of South Texas will be free for the summer.

The museum will reopen Tuesday after it was closed during the governor's stay at home orders in March.

"Thanks to the Ed Rachal Foundation summer admission to AMST will be free for all visitors," the museum said in a news release. "Our entire team has been working diligently to create a safe and engaging environment."

There will be touchless check-in at the museum's gift shop and lobby.

Visitors will enter the museum through the main entry doors by the pink wall. There, a staff member will open the door and maintain a safe flow of visitors inside. All staff will be wearing face coverings, the release states.

Visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings for entry and the entire visit. Floor decals and signs will remind visitors to keep six feet apart from other visitors.

Hand-sanitizing stations will be seen throughout the museum and paper materials and touch-based items will be removed. Staff will also sanitize public areas continuously throughout the day, the release states.

"You will see multiple new exhibitions during your visit to AMST, including never before seen works from our Permanent Collection, an installation by local artist Jennifer Arnold, and the Creative Distancing exhibition which highlights the creativity of our local and national community," the release reads.
