Violet King
At the dawn of the day, the Lord called Violet May Johnson King to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at the age of 85.
Violet was born on Feb. 28, 1935, to Carl and Velma Johnson. She was married to the late Richard K. King and lived in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
Violet was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking She loved spending time with her grandsons and great granddaughters.
Violet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard K. King; daughter, Cindy D. King; parents, Carl and Velma King Johson; brothers, Thomas Johnson and Marion Johnson and sister, Betty Green.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Ronnie King (Pam Henderson); daughter, Sherry Martin (James Foshee); sisters, Lillie Mallory, Dixie McDonald and Ann Brock; grandsons, Joey Martin and Chris Martin (Amanda Tucker) ; great grandchildren, Layla and Shelby Martin along with extended family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Martin, Joey Martin, Dennis Reed, Daniel King, Dakota King, Stanley King, Jacob King, and James Foshee.
The family will have visitation on Friday, Sept. 11, from 11-11:45 a.m. CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn.
A graveside service will be held following the visitation at noon CST at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, with Brother Ronnie Case officiating.
