The Eagles enter head coach Doug Pederson’s fourth season at the helm coming off a 9-7 regular season that extended into the NFC divisional round in the playoffs. As it aims to improve on that campaign, Philadelphia bolstered its receiving corps with a familiar face from the old days.
The Eagles traded for DeSean Jackson over the offseason, returning the wide receiver to the team that drafted him after five seasons split between the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“It’s without a doubt exciting,” quarterback Carson Wentz said Monday following his return to NovaCare Complex for the start of the offseason program. “You see the guy, obviously he’s getting up there in age, but he still runs like the wind ... [Jackson] has still got it. I think it’s without a doubt exciting and he will bring a dynamic aspect to our offense.”
Jackson gets a chance to gel with his new teammates when the Eagles play in four preseason contests. Here is their August slate:
Week 1: vs. Tennessee Titans, Aug. 8-12
Week 2: at Jacksonville Jaguars, Aug. 15-19
Week 3: vs. Baltimore Ravens, Aug. 22-25
Week 4: at New York Jets, Aug. 29-30
