There have been 3,791 people fully vaccinated for COVID-19 who have tested positive for the virus as of June 12 in Massachusetts.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, these breakthrough cases make up 0.1 percent of the 3,720,037 fully vaccinated people in the state, WHDH reported.

As of April 30, there have been a total of 10,262 COVID vaccine breakthrough infections reported across 46 United States states and territories, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Due to the fact that vaccinated people are more likely to experience mild symtoms, cases some cases may have been unreported.

The DPH still encourages anyone with any known exposure or mild symptoms to get tested, according to WHDH.

“Testing to identify current infection remains critical to control of COVID-19,” the DPH said according to WHDH. “The number of COVID-19 cases in MA is low right now and it is important to continue to take appropriate public health action to keep that number low.”

As of May 17, MassLive reported there were 3,083 COVID infections which added up to 0.12% of all fully vaccinated people in the state, meaning there were about 700 breakthrough cases in the last month.

Daily active cases in Massachusetts continue to drop, as this is the third straight week with no there were no Massachusetts cities or towns at ‘high risk.”
