National consulting and engineering design firm Maser Consulting PA has acquired Craig Testing Laboratories of Mays Landing.

The Red Bank-based buyer announced the deal with the full-service geotechnical, construction quality assurance and materials testing company on July 29.

Craig Testing is fully-accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Maser said, for laboratory testing of soils, aggregate, concrete and asphalt.

Maser’s addition of the lab will complement and enhance the firm’s ability to provide geotechnical engineering, construction observation and testing, and special inspection services in the region, the company said.

In a prepared statement, Craig Testing President Eduardo Freire described the combination as a strategic move that would create new opportunities and expand both companies.

“We are very excited to join forces with Craig Testing Laboratories,” Maser President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Haney said in a statement. “We believe the synergy generated with the merging of our firms will create an organization with technical capabilities and coordinated, in-house services unmatched by other firms in the region.”

Maser Consulting has 32 offices in 12 states across the country with more than 900 employees.
