GLENSIDE, PA — A man is facing criminal charges after leaving a series of lewd voicemails for Montgomery County's U.S. Congresswoman Madeleine Dean in February, police said Monday. The messages came in the wake of President Trump's impeachment trial and were allegedly spurred by Dean's role as a House manager of the trial, which brought her national attention.

U.S. Capitol police notified Montgomery County Detectives of the voicemails, which began back on Saturday, Feb. 10, the District Attorney's Office said. At the time, 11 separate messages had been left at Dean's Glenside office in Cheltenham Township, according to police.

"The voicemail messages contained vulgar, obscene and sexually explicit language directed at the Congresswoman as well as several that referenced the Proud Boys and the Congresswoman’s testimony during the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump," the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said in announcing the charges.

All told, between Feb. 10 and Feb. 18, Cilurson left 19 voicemails for Dean, police said.

Cilurson's phone number was traced, authorities said. His home of Aldan is not in Dean's Congressional district, which covers most of Montgomery County.

It's not the first police incident in the county which has its origins in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol. Police said that an Eagleville man threatened the Montgomery County Democratic Headquarters in Norristown, before firing several shots into the window, in January.

Cillurson was arraigned and released on bail. A preliminary hearing is set for April 22.
