Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is battling for the No. 3 quarterback job with the Arizona Cardinals. He put his best foot forward on his first snap on Saturday against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.

Guarantano completed a 74-yard pass to Andy Isabella on his first pass attempt of the game, then threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Greg Dortch to finish his first drive.

Take a look.

In his rookie year, Guarantano is battling with former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley, the fourth-year pro who has played in three NFL games and was signed off the Ravens practice squad by the Cardinals last season.

The undrafted free agent has made a lot of his limited snaps, going 12-for-21 for 167 yards and three touchdowns in three preseason games.

Guarantano spent five seasons at Tennessee, playing in 41 games with 32 starts. He fought through injury to help the Vols to a 2019 Gator Bowl berth, then struggled in 2020 (like many of his teammates) during the final season of the Jeremy Pruitt era.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jarrett Guarantano (16) throws a pass against the Tennessee Titans during the third quarter of an NFL preseason game at Nissan Stadium Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, in Nashville, Tenn.

The Lodi, New Jersey native then transferred to Washington State, utilizing the extra COVID-19 year, but played just two games.
