Man drove himself to hospital before dying of gunshot wounds to chest, suspect at large

Police are searching for a person suspected of fatally shooting a 25-year-old at a north Nashville gas station. 

Metro Nashville police said officers were called to the Jefferson Street gas station Wednesday morning about 8:30 a.m. in response to the shooting. 

The victim, Kendrick Frazier, and a suspect pulled up to the gas pumps about the same time and got into an argument. The suspect then fired upon Frazier striking him in the chest, police said.

The suspect left the scene and Frazier drove himself to General Hospital. He was then taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died, police said. 

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting and are pursuing leads to identify and find the suspect.
