Apple salaries revealed: See how much engineers, data scientists and thousands of other employees at the tech giant make

  • Apple has performed solidly in an economic slowdown that has hit other tech companies harder.
  • We analyzed thousands of H-1B visa applications to get a sense of how much Apple pays employees.
  • It has one of the strictest tech return-to-office policies, so most of the people are in California.

Apple has performed a lot better than many tech companies during this economic slowdown. And it's still hiring a lot of new employees — and paying them well.

Although Apple does not share how much it pays workers, it is required to disclose salary offers in work-visa applications submitted to the US Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Insider combed data from the office, which authorizes hiring non-US employees, then publicly releases the information.

The data excludes stock grants that can significantly increase total compensation, but it is a valuable guide to Apple salaries for a variety of positions. Insider dug through the thousands of disclosed salaries that represent engineers, managers, and more.

The iPhone maker has one of the strictest tech return-to-office policies, so more than three-fourths of the second quarter 2022 salaries — over 3,000 applicants — represent workers in California. The highest-paid person in the data set is a senior director who was offered $415,000, while the lowest-paid is a graphic designer who was offered $62,733.

Here's a breakdown of what Apple pays many other employees. The broad categories are taken from filings by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Roles are listed below only if there are at least three candidates.

When you are done checking out the data below, take a look at Insider's Big Tech salary database to see how much Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and other companies pay their workers.
