Where’s California’s ‘freedom’ now?

.

It was less than 60 days ago that California Gov. Gavin Newsom — the governor of the state with the nation’s highest poverty, highest homelessness, and near-highest income inequality — had the audacity to spend money on an ad in Florida asking Floridians to move to California because “freedom is under attack in your state.”

The ad was laughable at the time, considering how much freer Florida was throughout the COVID pandemic compared to lockdown-loving California.

But now, California is really abandoning the freedom mantle, first banning the sale of gas-powered cars and now censoring what doctors can tell their own patients.

No one is buying Newsom’s claim that California is more free than Florida. That is why Florida is one of the top 10 states Californians are fleeing to.

I mean, sure, if you want an abortion, then California is your top destination. No state kills more babies than California. It is an abortion sanctuary state.

But if you want the freedom to get a job, buy a house, afford food, gas, and electricity, and actually raise a family, then California is the last place anyone would want to live.
