Are you ready to take your spicy food game to the next level? If you’re a fan of flavor, check out the second annual Chi-Town Hot Sauce Expo. Vendors from around the world will set up shop June 29-30 in Bridgeview’s SeatGeek Stadium, where you can try craft hot sauces, barbecue sauces and salsas. Go for unlimited hot sauce samples, along with a variety of food, craft beers and cocktails for sale.
It wouldn’t be a true hot sauce celebration without a bit of spectacle. Head to the expo’s “Stage of Doom,” where you can witness valiant competitors set their mouths on fire as they attempt to choke down the Carolina Reaper, deemed the world’s hottest pepper by Guinness World Records. Other competitions include the “Spicy Taco of Hell” and “Hot Diggity Dog” eating challenges, plus a Chihuahua beauty pageant and a “Booze & Infuse” cocktail competition, where contestants will have 90 seconds to create the ultimate cocktail.
Tickets are available online and at the venue. There are three ticket options — general admission tickets ($7) include access to stadium events, entertainment and hot sauce tastings; Beer & BBQ Platter tickets ($40) include craft beer and Southern style barbecue, among other perks; and VIP tickets ($75) include backstage passes, cocktails, food and a goodie bag.
