Arkansas football vs. Liberty: Our final score predictions are in

Dani Mohr
Fort Smith Times Record

Arkansas football will host the Liberty Flames at Razorback Stadium on Saturday.

The Razorbacks are coming off a 41-27 win over Auburn last week while the Flames dominated BYU. Liberty only recorded one loss to Wake Forest in Week 3.

A win over Liberty will keep the Razorbacks on track to potentially earn a spot in the Sugar Bowl, where they may face one of the highest-level SEC teams.

Arkansas 38, Liberty 28 — Arkansas is favored by two touchdowns over Liberty, but the Razorbacks' defense will have its hands full with a well-rested Freeze offense. Liberty's defense will start strong, but Arkansas' physical, balanced offense will wear down the Flames. The Razorbacks will win their third straight.

Blake Toppmeyer, SEC columnist

Arkansas 38, Liberty 28: It is a testament to Hugh Freeze’s coaching ability that Liberty is ranked No. 23 by the AP despite starting three quarterbacks this season, due to injuries. However, none of Liberty’s quarterbacks is as good as Arkansas’ KJ Jefferson, who continues to fly below the radar as one of the SEC’s top stars. Also flying below the national radar: Rocket Sanders. The Arkansas running back has topped 1,000 yards before November action. Liberty can’t make many mistakes if it hopes to pull an upset, and yet the Flames average 2.25 turnovers per game.

John Adams, Senior sports columnist

Arkansas 42, Liberty 24: As of this writing, Hugh Freeze is still coaching Liberty. But maybe he could help Auburn, too, which could be where he’s headed next.

He at least could call in a couple of plays on his cellphone. No, scratch that. He has a bad history with cellphones.
