Grand Terrace Councilman Bill Hussey has pulled ahead of Mayor Darcy McNaboe in the race for the city’s top elected office, according to unofficial election results posted by the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters Wednesday, Nov. 9.
While initial Election Day returns had McNaboe ahead by a couple dozen votes, those figures reflected only mail-in and early voting ballots received by Monday, Nov. 7.

Hussey overcame that early deficit Wednesday thanks to a large lead in votes cast at polling places.
As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, Hussey had 877 votes to McNaboe’s 763.
McNaboe seeks a third term as mayor.
Hussey hopes to slide over a chair on the dais.
Councilman Doug Wilson ran unopposed this Election Day.
Elsewhere on the ballot, Measure M, which proposed a 10% cap on how much any local hotel or vacation home can charge overnight guests, was leading narrowly Wednesday morning, with 827 votes in favor of the move and 823 against.
The measure would generate up to $250,000 annually for general city expenses.
