Man killed in crash in Clermont County

A New Richmond man was killed in a crash early Thursday in Batavia Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 1 a.m. on Ohio 132 near milepost 13. According to the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Zachery I. Shepherd, 21, was driving a 2012 Chrysler 200 northbound when it traveled off the left side of the road. The vehicle then struck an embankment and overturned, landing on its top.

Shepherd was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the crash site, according to the highway patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol – Batavia Post.
