A 19-year-old woman was stabbed in the face during a fight at a Halloween party in Antioch early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers were called at 1:30 a.m. to a report of a large fight that had broken out in the area of Golden Bear and Via Dora drives. During the investigation, they determined that a female victim had sustained a laceration to the side of her face and was transported to a local area hospital for her injuries, according to Antioch Police spokesman Darryl Saffold.

The girl’s mother later told this newspaper that her daughter was slashed in the face, the blade penetrating the side of her eye and slicing her cheek through to her chin. The Antioch teen underwent emergency plastic surgery and is recovering but it is unclear if she will be able to see out of her left eye again, she said.

Police said this is still an active and ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information, a video or who witnessed the attack can call police at 925-779-6890.  You may also text-a-tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using the key word ANTIOCH.
