ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers of major road and lane closures beginning Friday night near New Florissant Road.

The road will be completely closed between Dunn and Pershall roads and both directions of Interstate 270 will be reduced to one lane over Route N starting at 8 p.m. Friday, according to MoDOT.

The closure, expected to be reopened by 5 a.m. Monday, will allow crews to remove part of the bridge over New Florissant Road.

MoDOT advised drivers to avoid the area during the closure and use the following detours:

  • Southbound drivers should go west on Dunn Road to travel south on Hanley Avenue/Graham Road or travel east on Pershall Road to get back to New Florissant Road.
  • Northbound drivers should take Pershall Road east to Washington Street/Elizabeth Avenue, to travel north on Washington Street/Elizabeth Avenue and to travel west on Dunn Road back to New Florissant Road.
