There’s a party happening Downtown Prince George Friday afternoon during Plaid Friday to launch the fourth annual United Way Tree of Lights fundraiser at the Wood Innovation Square, 1142 Fifth Avenue, from 3 to 7 p.m.

This year’s kick-off offers great fun with games and activities for families, as well as holiday crafting, prizes, music, free photos with Santa and there’s even free hot chocolate. The Prince George Spruce Kings will be on hand along with the Cantata Community Choir to add a little cheer. The games offered are Pin the Nose on Rudolph, Dress a Snowman Race, Candy Cane Toss and a Holiday Scavenger Hunt.

This event along with Plaid Friday focuses on what Prince George has to offer and to bring the community together in the downtown core while launching the Tree of Lights fundraising campaign to raise $85,000 for local community services and programs.

Donations will be taken on site and United Way will also be selling their Stocking Stuffer 50/50 raffle tickets to enhance the fundraising effort.

The first 40 people to make a donation to the Tree of Lights at the Square will get an amazing goodie bag full of gifts from local businesses.
