ZEELAND, MI — Two incumbents on the Zeeland Board of Education were reelected Tuesday to fill two seats in the Tuesday general election, according to the unofficial results from the Ottawa County Clerks Office.

Board of Education Vice President April DeWitt and Trustee Rick Dernberger survived a challenge Nov. 8 by Gerald Rademaker for the six-year seats.

All election precincts did not fully report until early Wednesday morning. DeWitt was the biggest vote-getter, with a total of 9,597 votes and Dernberger, a realtor followed with 7,432 votes. Rademaker trailed and was a distant third place with 5,517 votes.

Dernberger is a realtor in Holland and has been on the school board since 2008. DeWitt has served on the board since 2016 and is a parent in the district.
