Four Iowa football players have received invitations for the Senior Bowl, one of the top postseason college football all-star games for NFL Draft prospects, Iowa Athletics announced Monday.
Defensive backs Riley Moss and Kaevon Merriweather, linebacker Jack Campbell and tight end Sam LaPorta were the four invitees. They also were Iowa’s four captains throughout the 2022 season.
Merriweather, Campbell and LaPorta all have the option to use their extra COVID-19 years of eligibility, but participating in the Senior Bowl would rule them out from using their COVID-19 years of eligibility. Moss is out of eligibility after exercising his extra year in 2022.
Merriweather has already accepted the invitation. He can still withdraw from the Senior Bowl and retain his year of eligibility, though, which Moss did last year.
