MGM Springfield outdoor ice rink opens to the public for the 2022 winter season

MGM Springfield has officially opened up its ice rink to everyone and anyone looking to bust out a pair of skates and shred some ice in front of the casino this winter.

MGM Springfield President & COO Chris Kelley and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno unveiled the opening of the city’s only outdoor ice rink on Armory Square during the casino’s annual tree-lighting ceremony Friday — which marks the start of the MGM’s Holiday Winter Wonderland celebration.

The rink will stay open all the way up until New Year’s Day.

MGM Springfield’s ice rink’s hours are:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: Closed
  • Wednesday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Thursday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Friday: 1 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The rink will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for the rink or looking for skate rental prices can check MGM Springfield’s website for pricing details.

MGM officials will also have a music show on display outside the ice rink every hour on hour from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week, from Nov. 25 through Jan.1.
