    A Seaport Christmas past

Seems like our only most popular cultural touchstones to Holidays Past are 1) “A Christmas Carol,” 2) “It’s a Wonderful Life,” 3) “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” 4) “A Christmas Story” and 5) “The Night Before Christmas.”

Perhaps you should consider Lantern Light Village at Mystic Seaport Museum, running weekends starting Dec. 2 through Dec. 17.

The Village is an outdoor, free-roaming experience across the museum grounds that highlights the difference between contemporary and 19th century holiday seasons. You’ll experience horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday lights displays, live music, fire pits, St. Nicholas himself, and plenty of crafts, stories and games. Yuletide the way it used to be!

    Lantern Light Village, 5-8 p.m. Dec. 2-3, 9-10 and 16-17, Mystic Seaport Museum, 75 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic; $29 adults ($24 members), $24 ages 4-12 ($19 members), free ages 1-3; www.mysticseaport.org, (860) 572-0711
