A Gravette Arkansas man who is known for his participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot has been denied on his motion to dismiss all charges or to be able to transfer venues on Wednesday.
Richard Barnett had made his way into Nancy Pelosi's office, sat in her chair, and put his feet on her desk.
According to the court documents, Barnett had filed a motion to dismiss all charges or to transfer the case to the western part of Arkansas.
Barnett said that President Biden and the house select committee tainted the national jury pool.
"Barnett maintains that a speech given by President Biden on September 1, 2021, in which he discussed January 6th and made statements related to supporters of former President Donald Trump, 'incited the entire nation to hate the January 6th defendants as a patriotic duty,'" said in the court documents.
During his motion to transfer, Barnett said that moving the case to where he is from will give him a better chance of getting his motion approved.
In the court document, it said, "Citing privately commissioned opinion polls, he maintains that it is the only district 'where he has any chance of selecting a fair and impartial jury of his peers[.]'"
The document goes on to explain the events as well as deny all of the motions that Barnett had tried to get approved.
