"This is so amazing, everyone in the community is joining us to say thank you for everything that was done. The sacrifices, our firefighters, police officers, healthcare workers, they made so many sacrifices every day to keep us safe," Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava said.

The event was created by the Miami-Dade County Commission's approval of a measure sponsored by commissioners Danielle Cohen Higgins and Oliver Gilbert.

"This is very humbling, you know. We're not all about that, we are always focused on serving and we got our heads in the game all the time. To see this love, really, man, it really touches the heart," Miami-Dade Police Director, Freddy Ramirez said.
