Baby boy, 3-year-old girl, man die after crash on I-10 near Casa Grande

Westbound traffic on Interstate 10 was being taken off at McCartney Road. here was no estimated time to reopen the westbound lanes, according to ADOT.

A fatal crash on Interstate 10 near State Route 387 and Casa Grande left a man, a 3-year-old girl and a baby boy dead Wednesday morning.

Preliminary information suggests that around 4 a.m. a pickup with South Carolina license plates was traveling westbound on I-10 when the driver went into the median, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves. It is unknown why the driver went off the road.

The driver then overcorrected, and the pickup rolled.

The man who was driving, a 3-year-old girl and a baby boy died at the scene, according to Graves. A woman, a 13-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy and a baby were flown to a Valley hospital.

The baby had life-threatening injuries.

Westbound I-10 was closed for most of the morning between milepost 185 near SR 387 and milepost 191 near McCartney Road, according to an Arizona Department of Transportation map. The highway reopened around 10:20 a.m.
