Both teens, from Kentucky, fled the scene in a stolen Kia Sorento that belonged to a relative of one of the boys, MNPD said. Police found the car at a nearby Arby's on Lebanon Pike and the two teens were taken into custody about 8 p.m.

The teens were charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of the clerk. The case will be handled in juvenile court, MNPD said. The Tennessean is not naming the two teens because they are minors.

The two were also charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a Sunday incident at a 7-Eleven on old Hickory Boulevard. MNPD said two suspects entered the store, took all the cash from the register at gunpoint and fled the scene. The teens allegedly confessed to their involvement in the Sunday robbery.
