UNIQLO Is Dropping a Second Collab With Marni

UNIQLO just announced the launch of its second collaboration with Italian luxury fashion house, Marni. Fusing UNIQLO's signature LifeWear silhouettes with Marni's unique approach to fabric and color, the collection offers an array of artistic designs for cold winter days.

The second collaboration comes as a result of the overwhelmingly positive response to the first iteration of the partnership which launched in Spring this year. with UNIQLO's Head of R&D, Yukihiro Katsuta, explaining in a press release that "It felt as though the collection matched the needs of people looking for fashion that allowed them to get rid of the oppressive mood of recent years."For this collection, Katsuta adds that "The theme this season is the joy of being wrapped up and is expressed through products synonymous with winter," showcased through vibrant knitwear and HEATTECH performance.

Marni's Creative Director, Francesco Risso adds that "Through this collection, I wanted to investigate the aesthetic perception of the 60’s, flirting with clichés. Patterns continue to inform everyone’s idea of Marni – as they sit at the core of our vocabulary and identify our graphic language. This time, though, we transposed those psychedelic patterns onto garments that unapologetically define the body, creating an enigmatic interplay of prints and anatomy that defines the silhouette."

The collection features graphic prints, vivid colors and UNIQLO's winter staples, each transformed by 1960's psychedelic patterns and voluminous silhouettes. Comprising down outwear with brightly-colored knits in hues of neon green, orange and saffron yellow, the collab introduces accessories like balaclavas, mittens and beanies in corresponding colors.

Rounding out this season's offering is a selection of 100% silk furoshiki scarves, each delicately designed with hand-painted patterns and artistic draping. A lesson in multi-functionality, the scarves can be worn around the neck, in your hair or used as a mini bag to carry small items.

The new Uniqlo x Marni collaboration will be available for purchase in stores and online from December 1.
