Police: False report of active shooter made at Withrow High School

A report of an active shooter at Withrow High School on Wednesday was found to be false, Cincinnati police reported.

The call reporting the shooter came in around 8 a.m., officials said. Officers determined by 9 a.m. that the report was false.

Investigators are working to determine who made the call.

Six Cincinnati Public Schools buildings had lockdowns in a single week early this month after officials said the district received several fake shooter threats. Cincinnati police are investigating.

This week, 11 schools in Maine received fake threats. In September, Princeton High School received a fake threat in a string of national cases that affected dozens of schools.
