Happy Friday, South Florida!

Hopefully everyone had a great week. After quite the warmth earlier this week, a front finally came through our area on Thursday and actually cleared all of South Florida. This brought a refreshing change to our temperatures early this morning. After waking up with high humidity and morning temperatures in the mid upper 70s all week, this morning South Florida woke up comfortably in the 60s with slightly lower humidity again. And while one may argue that 60s really isn’t that cool, after the warmth we have been experiencing, we will take whatever we can get!

It seems south Florida will enjoy very pleasant conditions today.  As humidity levels remain comfortable and temperatures a little closer to average, today looks to be like the best day of this week (and for the foreseeable future).  High temperatures will remain in the lower 80s, with some areas remaining in the upper 70s all day.  Northerly wind will pick up in speed later today and that will also keep comfortable conditions throughout the day. Winds will eventually veer out of the NNE this afternoon, which could bring in more clouds, especially along coastal areas.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and this time the ‘end’ will come much sooner than we’d like it to.  Another front will be quickly moving down across Florida through the upcoming weekend as moisture continues to increase across South Florida. This means that wind speeds will remain on the breezy to gusty side, while rain chances gradually increase through the weekend. Right now it looks like Saturday will be the drier of the two weekend days, however, showers will still be possible on Saturday as well. Cloud cover will continue to increase up and down our state, especially areas closest to that front. That front, similar to the one that came through South Florida, will also stall south of our area.

And as if rain on the weekend were not enough, it looks like South Florida will remain in an unsettled weather pattern as we head into the start of next week. It looks as though mostly cloudy skies will stick around with a good chance for showers each day. And it looks like, at times the rain could be heavy, which will keep the ground saturated and continue to soak south Florida just days before the Thanksgiving holiday. Speaking of, this rainy weather pattern is surely keeping South Florida wondering what we can expect on the big day.  As of this writing, it looks like conditions begin to dry out for South Florida, and we could see an improvement just in time for Thanksgiving. But with the big day still about a week away, be sure to plan accordingly because there is still plenty of time for things to change.

Have a great weekend!
