OAKLAND — Police shared the name and images of a man sought in connection with a fatal shooting late last month outside an East Oakland shop, authorities said.
In that shooting, officers responded shortly before 8:45 p.m. Oct. 28 to Ali Baba Smoke Shop, 10220 International Blvd., and found a 25-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds.
The man, later identified as Pablo Garcia Jr., was pronounced dead. The killing was the 107th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated five homicides on Oakland freeways.
A 27-year-old woman was also shot in the leg and later hospitalized in stable condition, police said.
Police had not released a motive for the shooting or made any arrests, but said they were sharing images of Juan Lopez, 26, of Oakland, in the hope that someone who recognized him or knew him might contact law enforcement.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money in the smoke shop shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
