Walt Disney World Increases Its Entry Prices Ahead of the Holidays — What to Know

It's about to get more expensive to visit Disney World during the holidays with new specific pricing for its one-day, one-park ticket option.

Effective Dec. 8, all four theme parks will operate on a variable pricing model based on the park, date, and demand. Previously, the highest single-day ticket to one park was priced at $159. With the new change, that will go up as high as $189, specifically to its most visited park, Magic Kingdom, during peak Christmas and New Year’s season.

One-day, one-park tickets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will range from $124 to $179 while EPCOT will range from $114 to $179. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will remain at its current price range of $109 to $159 for one-day, one-park tickets.

“We continue to focus on providing guests with the best, most memorable Disney experience, and we’re doing that by growing our theme parks with incredible new attractions and offerings," a spokesperson for Disney World shared withTravel + Leisure on Tuesday. "We are also making planning easier with new 1-day tickets that automatically include a guest’s theme park reservation and continue to provide a wide range of options to visit throughout the year, including our lowest priced ticket of $109 which has not changed in more than four years.”

Along with the ticket increase, Disney is making adjustments to its park pass reservation system. Unlike all other tickets and passes, guests purchasing a single-day ticket will automatically receive a park pass reservation at time of purchase. Since 2020, park pass reservations have been required for all guests when visiting any Walt Disney World theme park.

Also effective Dec. 8, its Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus options will now vary by price based on date. No further details were shared at this time.

In addition to single day park admission, annual passes see an increase in price, with the exception of the Disney Pixie Dust Pass. Although new sales are currently paused, Incredi-, Sorcerer, and Pirate continue to be available for renewal. Pass increases are as follows: Incredi-Pass $1,399 (previously $1,299), Sorcerer $969 (previously $899), Pirate $749 (previously $699). Pixie Dust Pass remains at $399. 

These changes are made ahead of 2023 which will see the opening of a highly anticipated Tron-themed ride. Walt Disney World is in the midst of its 50th anniversary with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” running through March 31, 2023.
