British retail giant Next is among a trio of new stores opening soon at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands. The big name clothing, footwear and home products retailer is set to open before Christmas at the Cannock complex.

Also pencilled in for a December opening is menswear retailer Jack & Jones. Eden Menswear completes the hat-trick of stores "opening soon" at the huge outdoor shopping centre, which is located about an hour's drive from Derby.

The three new stores will join the likes of Scottish menswear retailer Lyle and Scott, luxury women's fashion brand Paul Costelloe, sportswear brand Champion, and Italian-style footwear firm Moda in Pelle in opening at the huge £160 million complex this year.

It has proved popular with shoppers since opening on April 12, 2021, the first day that non-essential retail could reopen after the third national coronavirus lockdown. Other stores already open at the designer outlet include Adidas, Fred Perry, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Radley, Le Creuset and Yankee Candle.

David Jackson, centre manager of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing such a well-known and much-loved brand as Next to our centre. The arrival will bring guests high-quality, classic products that have been part of the British high street for over 30 years, offering everything from clothing and footwear to accessories and homeware.

"We will also be excitingly opening our doors to the popular menswear brands Eden Menswear and Jack & Jones, adding to the already existing 54 stores and six restaurants we have already opened this year.”

There is of course also a designer outlet shopping village in South Normanton, Derbyshire, where British beauty brand Molton Brown recently opened a pop-up shop for Christmas. The luxury bath and body care firm opened a store at the centre on Thursday, September 22.

In other McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands news, American fashion giant Tommy Hilfiger relocated into a bigger 4,627-square-foot unit in July. The new outlet is located in a "prime position" next to Starbucks, by the huge shopping village's car park.

Nottingham-based vegan food takeaway The Filthy Vegan opened within the shopping complex's food court in early September.
