"Our readers have spoken. They want to support local businesses, they want the convenience of shopping online, and they want the ease and variety of a marketplace. We are pleased and proud to give them all three," says Nicole Vogel, founder and CEO of Seattle Met and SagaCity Media. Seattle Met has long been the city's largest source of lifestyle content. In the last year, seattlemet.com received over 6 million visits, driving more than 500,000 clicks to local stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

"We realized we could create tremendous value by leveraging our traffic and our affluent audience, allowing local stores to compete more effectively against online marketplace behemoths," Vogel says. "Local shops either don't have a large enough online audience, or the cost to drive traffic proves cost prohibitive."

All participating shops were hand-selected by Seattle Met's staff and personally invited to join the marketplace. The Shops at Seattle Met launched with over 40 local businesses, with more stores added daily. The unique e-commerce site allows consumers to search once to find product results from across the city. Purchases from multiple local stores can be made in a single transaction, and consumers can choose to pick up in store or have products shipped directly to their homes. Product categories include apparel, toys, jewelry, kitchenware, home decor, fine art, wine, and much more.

A list of current businesses that have agreed to be part of the Shops at Seattle Met:

A Mano, Au 79, Antica Farmacista, Arvin Goods, Bezel & Kiln, Big Whale Consignment, Bootyland Kids, Cancelled Plans Candles, Chooka, Chunks, Clover Toys, Damsel Cellars, Doll Parts Collective, EFESTĒ, Fancy, FELLER, flora and henri, Foster/White Gallery, Frederick Holmes and Company, Freeman Seattle, French Girl Organics, fruitsuper, GLDN Jewelry, Graypants, HotSpot Firepits, Island Treats, KariKari, Luly Yang, Moop, Mylle, Noir Lux Candle Co., Paychi Guh, Pike & Western Wine Shop, Princess and The Bear, Public Habit, The Seattle Barkery, Simply Seattle, Sskein, Sparklebarn, Spinnaker Chocolate, Staheekum, Terra Bella, Throwbacks Northwest, Villa Jerada, Wayward, Western Chief, and more are joining every day.
