The 215 Freeway at Washington Street in Colton will be closed between 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, and 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, so Colton workers can install a water line.

The job is in the same area as Caltrans’ ongoing 215 Freeway Washington Street Bridge Replacement Project.

Traffic will start being diverted well ahead of Washington Street, a Caltrans spokeswoman said last week.

Detours will be in place to help drivers navigate the area during the closure.

As far as the larger project, Caltrans expects to complete the new Washington Street bridge by summer 2024.

The new overpass will be 240 feet, have a vertical clearance of 16 feet, 6 inches, and accommodate six lanes of traffic, two bike lanes, a sidewalk and include two shoulders.
