Coast Guard Rescues 2 Near Corpus Christi

The Coast Guard and firefighters have rescued two people whose personal watercraft ran aground near Corpus Christi.

Coast Guard officials say the man and the woman were treated and released following Sunday night's rescue near Packery Channel.

Emergency personnel were summoned about a man and a woman stranded, as temperatures dropped to the low 60s.

A Coast Guard helicopter located the pair. A rescue swimmer was dispatched, along with boats from the Flour Bluff Fire Department.

The rescue boats were unable to reach the grounded watercraft due to shallow conditions. A Coast Guard rescue swimmer helped the man and the woman make their way to the boats.
