Texas rejects more than 5,000 personalized plates in 2022: ‘F@RT,’ ‘LA KILLA’ among them

Personalized license plate requests including STONED1, COKANE and JAN-6TH were among the thousands denied by the state of Texas in 2022, the department of motor vehicles said.

From January to October, over 5,000 unique plate applications were rejected, said the Texas DMV.

Rejected tags included LA KILLA, F@RT, BADAZZ, SHITTYB, SMKE*EM, 4MAGA, COOLAF, SHE MAD, NO EFFS, N4KD, NF*GVN and GOT BUNS.

DMV guidelines spell out any proposal considered vulgar, violent, drug-related or promoting illegal activity will be refused.

Phrases relating to race, ethnicity and gender are also not allowed, even if they’re not derogatory.

Personalized plates will also get thrown out if they threaten, impersonate or make a reference to government officials or law enforcement, like F BDN and 4MAGA – both of which were vetoed by the agency in 2022.

FELLON, TOESUKR and BLU BLLS were rejected, as was TATTD*AF, IM PSSD, SKMYBLS, 69BLUE, and ST@NER.

However, some seemingly innocuous plates such as MR.CRAZY, SADGRL and SAV4G3 were also rejected.

The DMV has final say on which custom tags it approves for residents willing to shell out an extra $40 on top of normal registration fees.

Hearts, hyphens, stars and period symbols are allowed in vanity plates, as well as silhouettes of the shape of Texas.

If a license plate is deemed a no-go, the driver can either get their money back or try another phrase, the state told The Post.
