Fire destroys barn in Hillsborough on Pirozzi Lane

HILLSBOROUGH – A fire destroyed a barn on Pirozzi Lane Friday afternoon.

Around 12:29 p.m. on Dec. 30, Township police responded to 34 Pirozzi Ln. on reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters and police discovered a detached pole barn engulfed in flames on the property, authorities said.

The barn was unoccupied and there were no injuries.

Firefighters from Hillsborough, Neshanic, North Branch, Montgomery Township, and Griggstown fire departments responded to fight the blaze. Robert Wood Johnson EMS also helped.

The fire was not considered suspicious but remains under investigation.
