East Nashville shooting leaves one dead, one injured

A shooting early morning Sunday left one person dead and another injured, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The shooting happened at a short-term rental home on the 700 block of Douglas Avenue in East Nashville at 1:45 a.m. during an apparent robbery, police said. Police described the suspects as four young men.

Police identified the victim as 18-year-old Taurus Oglesby, of Nashville. The other shooting victim was described by police as a 17-year-old male, also of Nashville.

Both shooting victims were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Oglesby died, according to police. The 17-year-old male remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

Andre Johnson, 19, was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting. He is charged with criminal homicide, according to police.

The second suspect, 17, who was shot during the incident is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for wounds to his jaw and neck. He is charged with criminal homicide and three counts of aggravated robbery.

Keesean Campbell, 24, was named a third suspect in the case, his whereabouts are unkown. Police have issued homicide and robbery warrants for his arrest.

The home had been rented by a local woman for a birthday party, police said.
