Looking to rent in the Greenville area? Here is what you can expect to pay per month.

The median cost of rent is rising in Greenville, according to data on median rent prices from Zillow, American online real estate marketplace company.

Currently, median rent for all properties in Greenville — apartments, townhouses and houses, regardless of the number of bedrooms — is $1,770. This is $120 more than January 2022, according to Zillow.

That leaves Greenville with median rent that's $325 less than the national median.

Here's a look at rent averages, by area, around Greenville County.

Greenville

Properties in Greenville range from $650 - $8,391 in rent according to Zillow.

The average rent in downtown Greenville is $1,833. The most affordable neighborhoods are Augusta Acres, where the average rent is $921, Donaldson Heights, where the average rent is $921 and Greater Sullivan, where the average rent is $921 according to RentCafe data.

David Samloff, Housing and Urban Development's Director of Moving to Work program, said he hasn't seen a decrease in rent yet.

"We're still seeing things go up," Samloff said.

Simpsonville

As of January 2023, the median rent for all bedrooms and all property types in Simpsonville, SC is $2,049 according to Zillow. This is $218 more than January 2022 and $125 more than December 2022.

Homes in Simpsonville rent between $750 - $3,350 according to Zillow.

Fountain Inn

Homes for rent range between $950 - $4,500 in Fountain Inn. As of January, the median rent for all property types is $1,844.  This is $494 more than January 2022 and $70 more than December 2022 according to Zillow data.

Mauldin

The median rent for all bedrooms and all property types in Mauldin, SC is $1,750, with homes for rent ranging from $1,183 - $4,882 according to Zillow data.

The median rent is up $171 more than January 2022 and $50 more than December 2022.

Travelers Rest

The median rent in Travelers Rest, SC is $1,900, $100 more than January 2022 and $95 less than December 2022.

Woodruff

The median rent in Woodruff is $1,762. The median is up $462 more than January 2022 and $612 more than December.

Houses in Woodruff rent between $750 - $2,195 according to Zillow.
