Halo Infinite's Forge lead designer Michael Shorr recently revealed on Twitter that 343 Industries is already "working on the best way to bring the campaign AI into Forge." This information came about when a player tweeted that Halo Infinite was in need of some PvE (player versus environment) content.

The Forge mode is currently available in the Beta phase, which means it is going to receive more content and features in the future. Recently, when a Halo Infinite fan suggested the game needs to feature some PvE modes, Michael Shorr responded by saying "On it!" When another user asked whether this mysterious response confirms the addition of Firefight mode to Halo Infinite, Shorr explained that while they aren't confirming anything yet, they are working to add an AI system to Forge mode.

An AI system could be a huge boon for Forge mode. Giving players the ability to add AI-driven missions and enemies to Forge would allow creatives to create exciting PvE content and quests for everyone to enjoy. There is no concrete time period for when Forge might be receiving these features, but it would appear work is well underway.

With the current tools in Forge, Halo Infinite players have already created some incredible maps including recreations of old Halo levels, or even stages from other game series' entirely.

343 Industries recently reassured fans that the 2023 roadmap remains unchanged as everything is proceeding as planned. On March 7, Season 3: Echoes Within will be launched. The new patch will bring a new battle pass as well as new maps. Some new game modes will also be available a few months after the new season's release.

Aside from what 343 Industries is working on, there is also an unannounced Halo project underway at Certain Affinity, a studio that has been working on this unknown project for over two years. It remains to be seen just what the Texas-based studio is up to.
